Warming the world...One quilt at a time!
History
Beginning a new venture involves much risk, sometimes, more money than available, but most importantly, stirs excitement.
Around July 2006, I was at a crossroads in my life with my career and talents. After searching my heart, I was inspired to do something with wheelchairs. At the time, I wasn't in a wheelchair, and didn't understand what it had to do with me, but at this point in my life, it didn't matter. So, I began creating designs of colorful, lightweight quilts to give to those in wheelchairs.
Then nine to ten months later, I was diagnosed with an incurable disease, MS (Multiple Sclerosis). It all started to make sense to me, and as I was learning about my disease, I was building an outreach program with the quilts. When given an opportunity to do something for others with our talent, we need to pursue within ourselves.
For me, reaching out to those in need, mostly children between the ages of 8 to 19 years old, that have an illness and/or their mobility is limited and need to use a wheelchair .. this has been my goal. Creating a special quilt that will bring warmth and comfort to them is something that has become an inspiration to me on a daily basis.
By designing a special quilt that is colorful and easy to handle makes them feel special and gives them comfort knowing that others do care about them and want to do something extraordinary for them.
My goal at Liberty Comfort Quilt Corporation is to create and design colorful quilts to give to those in need and/or may need to utilize the use of a wheelchair for mobility.
